IEEE-CS FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Do I have to be a Junior or Senior to join?Answer: Absolutely not! Any UWM student is welcome to join. You don't even have to be a Computer Science major to join the IEEE-CS. While it is true that most of our members, past and present, have been Computer Science students, anyone with an interest in computers is welcome.
Question: Do I have to be a member to hang out in the IEEE-CS office?
Answer: No! Anyone is welcome to come visit us in the office. We have soda and snacks available to anyone for a small cost. Feel free to drop by and talk.
Question: How do I get the door code to the IEEE-CS office?
Answer: Any member who would like room access should email us requesting room access and the reasons why they feel they should have it. If you are given room access by unanimous vote of the current officers, you will be required to sign a list of rules stating you read them, understand them and agree to abide by them. These are the exact same rules that the officers are held to. These rules are mostly just common sense, to make sure that we act like the professional organization that we are. If you are given rights to manage the room alone, then while you are there, you are the sole representation of the IEEE-CS @ UWM to anyone who stops into the office.
